I will come back and update this post when/if I do test it. However, my space doesn't really have enough extra room for me to sit there with a bass in my lap, so dunno if I'll ever end up testing it on that setup, but probably eventually. My desktop has way better audio hardware connected to it, including studio monitors, which makes for an entirely more complex setup.

I do not normally go post about my issue being solved but this time, I wanted to make sure that I did because I would not want someone else to give up on a game they've spent money on because they couldn't hunt down a phantom software incompatibility that could actually be fixed. I was otherwise unable to figure out how to enable ASIO in Windows. Literally, make sure this box is checked, the rest is the sample image from Maxx53. RS_ASIO_GUI allowed me to check a single freaking box and all of a sudden my interface was working and I was getting sound from Rocksmith again. Note - RS_ASIO_GUI and RS_ASIO only work with the Steam version of RS2014 at the time of writing this.
At this point, I was absolutely furious, but I got lucky because I found Rocksmith ASIO GUI from Maxx53. So, I set my ini files back to default settings.
Messed around with various custom buffer sizesĪfter all this, I was still unable to get any sound. Tried a bunch of different options for Rocksmith.ini and for RS_ASIO.ini. Switched back to my Interface and made sure that both inputs and output sampling rates were 16 bit/48 kHz (DVD Quality). Disabled my interface and switched to my onboard (Realtek) audio as default. Tried reinstalling Rocksmith 2014 through Steam. Tried repairing Rocksmith 2014 through Steam. Tried Disabling Fullscreen Optimizations. Attempted to download/Install ASIO4ALL + Offline Settings to make sure the interface was enabled.Disabled all outputs except the my interface.
Compatibility mode of Rocksmith2014.exe set for Win7. Google had me believe that it was something to do with compatibility mode, or with too many outputs.
